If I could give more than 5 stars I would!! Amanda did an amazing job working with us to bring our vision to life! When things drifted from our original plan Amanda and her Dad were quick to pivot without making the hiccup seem noticeable. She played all the songs we wanted and really brought the party alive! My favorite part was how well she worked with my coordinator, videographer and photographers to help with transitions! She directed us all outside so we could take a big group photo and the catering could flip the space for dancing. Not only was her service great, but she was just an awesome person to work with and she continued to remind us to do why WE wanted on our day, and that she was there to make that happen. Throughout the night she’d come up to check in and see how we were doing and if we needed anything she’d communicate it to others. If I’m ever planning a big event again, she’ll be one that I call!
Frequently asked Questions About Raleigh Wedding DJ and Video
How long have you been in the wedding entertainment business? We've been proudly serving Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and surrounding areas since 1995. This year, Amanda and James are celebrating 20 years of working together, bringing quality entertainment to over 400 satisfied clients.
Are weddings your main events or do you play at other events? We're a full-service DJ company, specializing in weddings (which make up 90% of our events). Beyond weddings, you can also count on us for lively entertainment at birthday celebrations, anniversaries, graduation parties, proms, and all types of corporate and private events.
Do you bring back-up equipment should there be any problems? Yes, we always bring two complete, high-quality sound systems to every event. While our professional-grade equipment is incredibly reliable, we believe in being fully prepared for any unforeseen circumstance. This ensures your celebration's soundtrack never misses a beat!
Does your company carry liability insurance? Yes, Raleigh Wedding DJ and Video has a $1,000,000 Liability Insurance Policy.
How Do You encourage People to get out on the Dance Floor? A packed, energetic dance floor doesn't just happen by chance—it’s the result of great planning, the right music, and most importantly, your presence. Be engaged, be visible, and we’ll take care of the rest. If there’s one thing we could tell every couple, it’s this: You are the center of attention your guests will follow your lead. When you're on the dance floor, your energy is contagious—guests naturally want to be where the action is. But if you choose to spend your evening outside by the fire-pit or chatting at a table, don’t be surprised if the dance floor half full. Simply put: if you want a fun, packed dance floor, be a part of it and stay present and visible. However; if you truly have two left feet, it’s important to greet your guests, but try not to get pulled into long conversations at one table all night. Circulate. Laugh. Dance. Let people see that you’re enjoying yourself. The more fun you’re having, the more everyone else will follow suit.
Does your company carry liability Insurance? Yes, Raleigh Wedding DJ and Video has a 1,000,000 dollar Liability Insurance Policy.
Common Wedding Reception Mistakes That Kill the Vibe
To ensure your wedding reception is a lively and unforgettable celebration, be mindful of these common missteps that can inadvertently drain the energy from your fun-filled evening:
1. **DJ Placement Matters:** Avoid placing the DJ table in a far-off corner. The closer they are to the dance floor, the better they can read and engage the crowd. Proximity directly impacts performance.
2. **Rethink the "All-in-a-Row" Formal Dances:** Stacking the first dance, father-daughter, and mother-son dances back-to-back can unintentionally drain energy from the room. Guests (especially kids) get restless, start talking, and disengage. Spread these special moments out—your guests (and your photos) will thank you.
3. **Minimize Interruptions Once Dancing Starts:** Once the party is going, keep it going. Last-minute group photos or long goodbyes can break the rhythm and clear the dance floor. If it's important, plan it earlier in the evening before dancing begins.
4. **Skip the Fake Send-Off:** Fake exits with sparklers or staged farewells may seem fun, but they often signal to guests that the night is over—even when it's not. This can deflate the vibe and encourage people to leave early.
